Surgical Programs- Hepatobiliary

The faculty within the Division of Surgical Oncology (Drs. David Bartlett, T. Clark Gamblin, Steven Hughes, Joshua Rubin and Herbert Zeh) has a longstanding history of expertise in hepatobiliary surgery. Dr. Joshua Rubin has been practicing hepatic resection and regional chemotherapy infusion for liver metastases since his coming to the University of Pittsburgh from the National Cancer Institute. Dr. David Bartlett has contributed significantly to the world literature on hepatobiliary malignancies, including gallbladder cancer, techniques for hepatic resection, the management of hepatic metastases, and the regional perfusion of the liver with chemotherapy. The goal of the hepatobiliary program is to provide comprehensive care to the patient with hepatic involvement from cancer. This includes complex liver resections, local ablation treatments, long-term infusional chemotherapy treatments, and regional perfusion chemotherapy.
